Player tracking from video
Ordinary game video, measured.
Your customers already record their games with you. Tracking data could be the next thing they get back from the same video.

What video can measure
Measured on NFL broadcast film. Pick one: the play above shows it, and the numbers below say how well it works.
Pass rush and pressure
MeasuredWhen the ball comes out, when the rush gets home, and how many came after the quarterback.
2.5 s median time to throw, 4,843 dropbacks
Pressure = a pass rusher within 2 yards of the quarterback (3-frame rolling median); only plays where it arrived. Each curve is a smoothed distribution of that series' plays; the area under each is the same. Source: NFL broadcast film, 2023–24 seasons.
How it's measured
We find the snap from how the players move, and the throw from the quarterback's arm motion. Time to throw is the gap between them.
Every defender is labelled as a pass rusher or a coverage player. Pressure arrives when a rusher gets within 2 yards of the quarterback.
On these dropbacks, pressure arrived before the throw on 12% of plays (95% interval 11%–12%).
How accurate it is
Checked against human-labelled plays.
The throw moment lands within 0.2 seconds of a human label on 51 of 61 test plays (84%). Most misses are on plays longer than 5 seconds, when the quarterback escapes.
Rushers and coverage players: 662 of 671 defenders labelled correctly on the same test plays.
When pressure arrives has no human reference yet.
We haven't yet measured this on high school or college film. That's what the pilots are for.

Who it's for
High school and college programs
You already film every game. That film holds more than the plays you tag by hand.
- How fast an opponent's quarterback throws, and how often their rush gets home
- Game speed for every player, without wearables
- Which routes your receivers win on
Video platforms and camera makers
Your customers already store their film with you. Tracking could be the next thing they get back.
- Field registration that turns sideline video into yard coordinates
- Pass rush, separation and speed for every play
- Runs on ordinary sideline video
Recruiting, scouting and data
Combine numbers are measured once, in shorts. Game numbers are measured every week.
- In-game top speed by position
- How much space a receiver creates
- How fast a pass rusher gets home
